Having worked in government and non-profit organizations for 30 years, Mardi is able to connect and inspire many for change.
Mardi has expertise in strategic planning, policy dialogue, creative advocacy, and social mobilization, with specialization in development areas of good governance, peace and human rights, health partnerships, micro-finance, enterprise development, and the rights of the child. She has managed several foreign-funded projects for USAID, CIDA, EU, WB, and UNDP, and was recently the Local Governance Specialist for AusAID Manila. She aims to inspire people to contribute to making this world a better place in their own small way.
She is presently the Country Program Manager for the Fred Hollows Foundation in the Philippines. Her exposure in the corporate world includes work with the Life Bank Foundation as Vice President, with SM City Bacolod as Assistant Mall Manager, with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines as CSR Specialist, and with Central Negros Power Corporation as Corporate Communications Director.
Mardi is married to USLS Professor Ernesto Suplido and together they have four children—Sandi, Sato, Simon, and Sari—who are all The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens Bridge Builders. She has traveled to 38 countries and enjoys watching movies.
